Forklift/Roll Clamp Operator
Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday-Thursday (some overtime required)
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Position Summary
Seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift/Roll Clamp Operator to support daily production and material handling operations. This position is responsible for safely operating a forklift equipped with a roll clamp to move, load, unload, stage, and organize paper rolls and other materials throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing/printing environment, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in working safely and efficiently as part of a team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift and roll clamp to transport paper rolls and other production materials.
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the facility.
- Position paper rolls and materials accurately for production use.
- Deliver materials to production areas as needed to keep operations running efficiently.
- Remove finished materials and properly return or stage products for storage or shipment.
- Inspect loads and equipment before operation and report any safety or equipment concerns.
- Properly secure and handle materials to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate inventory and material locations when required.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, shipping, and supervisory personnel.
- Assist with general material-handling duties as needed.
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience required; roll-clamp (company will train)
- Ability to safely maneuver a forklift in a busy production environment.
- Experience handling large or heavy rolls/materials is a plus.
- Must be proficient in basic math and computer skills
- Ability to read and follow work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, printing, or material-handling experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to frequently reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and move materials as required.
- Must be able to work safely around moving equipment and machinery.
