Pro Resources is seeking a 1st shift Grinder candidate for a company located in New Haven, IN. This company is a super abrasive specialist that provides custom cutting, polishing, and grinding tools to multiple industries.

JOB SUMMARY: The Diamond Grinder/Lapper is responsible for finishing grinding diamond roll profiles, bores, and faces within specified drawing requirements and tolerances. This role involves operating various grinding machines, including ring grinders, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and Universal Heald grinders. The primary focus is on maintaining quality and safety standards, as well as keeping accurate records of equipment usage.
JOB DUTIES:
- Read, understand, and follow work orders and engineering drawings.
- Measure and verify settings and parts using tools such as projectors, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators.
- Operate different grinding machines in the department.
- Select appropriate tools and grinding wheels for optimal productivity.
- Create work holding setups for efficient production.
- Consistently achieve required tolerances.
- Generate customer inspection reports.
- Meet standard productivity requirements.
- Report time and material usage in manufacturing systems.
- Perform other duties as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Safely operate required equipment.
- Accurately inspect products using specified measuring equipment.
- Read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings.
PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to maintain required tolerances.
- At least 1 year of grinding or related experience.
- Functional and technical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word).
- Attention to detail and sound judgment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Prolonged standing.
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Regular lifting and moving of up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to grease, oils, noise, and coolant/mist.
