Pro Resources Staffing Service has an immediate opportunity for a Software Quality Assurance Analyst for our client in Lafayette.  The primary role of the QA Analyst will follow existing test procedures and write new ones, as applicable, as well as work with Customer Support to confirm customer-reported defects.  Great, established company in Lafayette with a generous benefits package!  Temp to hire to start.

What you will be doing:
  • Execute all phases of the QA cycle (e.G. Requirements analysis, test case identification, test plan authoring, execution, defect tracking, status, and reporting of results).
  • Create test cases, scenarios, and supporting data based on customer requirements and design documentation.
  • Execute tests to validate that the software complies with standards and documented requirements.
  • Perform Functional, Regression, Performance, System Integration, and User Acceptance testing based on customer requirements.
  • Log and track defects from initial discovery to closure, working with developers to assess severity and impact.
  • Contribute to test planning activities, including developing documentation and estimating testing needs and time-frames.
  • Develop an understanding of requirements, including how users use the products and the impact of change to the users workflow.
  • Troubleshoot software problems and escalate issues, as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, project team members, and the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Background Profile:


         Candidate will preferably possess a Bachelor s degree in a computer, mathematics, or science related field.

         3-5 years of Software Quality Assurance experience is required

         Basic programming principles

         Basic electrical theory


         Atlassian product suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)

         Problem solving and root cause analysis

         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

         Writing quality management system procedures, work instructions and test instructions

         The design, writing, and execution of quality test plans for electronic hardware and software

         Knowledge of software programming and software development lifecycle

         Knowledge of SQL Server

         Ability to multi-task while meeting testing/project deadlines

         Self-motivated, critical thinking, organization skills, and detail-oriented

         Works well in a team environment, as a liaison and alone Intermediate to advanced computer skills
