POSITION SUMMARY:

Trouble shoot, repair, maintain, modify, design, dismantle and install all production and building equipment covering the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural areas. Understand PLC s.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Employee indoctrination and job description training
Safety and Quality procedure training
Fork lift training and certification
Electronic, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and structural training in one or all of the above in an accredited industrial trade or technical school or have a minimum of five years experience in all the above.
Leadership training in directing maintenance activities


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work and make decisions without supervision, involving all levels of management as needed.

Prioritize jobs, keep track of P.M. Work and report needs to the department head.

Prepare maintenance list for future needed repairs.

Fill out requisitions and expedite part deliveries

Research vendors for ordering necessary parts

Call in contractors as needed

Troubleshoot and repair all equipment in the warehouse. (Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Structural)

Consult with department head on critical breakdown situations and help direct the maintenance work team in safely and efficiently completing repairs.

Make sure critical spares are identified and placed in designated areas for ease of retrieval.

Assist department head in training of maintenance employees for upgrading the skill level of maintenance.

Communicate with production personnel on maintenance items and work closely with each department to solve these problems.

Make sure all maintenance activity is done in a safe manner by enforcing lock-out of equipment, wearing of safety belts following all department safety procedures.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance Tech. Must be able to perform all Essential Duties and Responsibilities other positions related to the operation of the Maintenance Department.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary to upgrade and maintain the safe, efficient operation of the warehouse.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This position does have leadership responsibilities this includes coordinating the activities of the members of the Maintenance team by; providing information on the requirements of each assigned duty, directing the Maintenance team, maintaining consistent flow of work through the Maintenance area, being concerned for the safety of Maintenance team members and being concerned about the general housekeeping of the Maintenance area.

The Maintenance Tech. May be required to assist in the training of a new Maintenance Tech. Or other positions related to the operation of the Maintenance Department.

Mistakes or errors of job performance can be costly to the company and the impact on customer satisfaction is significant.

Knowledge of location of warehouse and commercial departments
Basic knowledge of  organization structure and responsibilities of departments
Knowledge and skill in basic warehouse functions
Read tape measure
Read Micrometer
Read and understand Bar Mics
Run a forklift
Run a Jib crane
Understand, calibrate and operate the Gamma Gauger
Read Maintenance and related equipment operating manuals
Read complex equipment blueprints and be able to troubleshoot using prints.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Formal apprenticeship in technical skill area as required learning the skill. (i.E. Tool and die, electrician, plumbing). Formal training as provided by trade school in an area of job related skill (i.E. Truck driving school, electronics schools, etc.)

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
