Position Summary:
Quality Engineer responsible for execution of the Quality Assurance program as well as effectively managing site activities for supplier launches and transitions and manufacturing changes. Lead supply base, manufacturing and engineering teams through 8D problem solving and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:
Ensure the flow down of product and process technical requirements to the supplier.
Perform all of the duties associated with those of a Quality Engineer in an assembly environment.
Be an active participant on the Packaging Assembly Cross Functional Business Teams; providing support and leadership for the assembly process improvement projects.
Provide support for appropriate PBT and CoC leadership teams, when requested.
Serve as effective team member of all supplier transitions and/or manufacturing changes as needed to support packaging.
Evaluation supplier quality systems and monitor performance to goals through metrics.
Initiate corrective action, when necessary, to address gaps in performance.
Perform process validations, as needed to support SQD.
Evaluate non-conforming supplied product and implement corrective actions.
Work with suppliers to develop processes and metrics to improve suppliers performance.
Lead the development of receiving inspection requirements and monitor the effectiveness on this activity
Support Value engineering efforts to enhance supplier cost reductions, productivity improvements and reduce the cost of supplied quality.
Set up and maintain a system to measure and monitor process capability as needed for the packaging assembly processes.
Provide support in developing and monitoring Process FMEAs and control plans.
Drive the reduction of internal non-conformances in packaging assembly processes using cross functional teams and proven corrective action tools.
Promote and maintain strong customer & supplier relationships.
Provide leadership for any Corrective Action Teams, as needed, developed to implement process changes.
Support TS16949 certification.
Communicate and support Product Safety activities and procedures with team members
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
Fully familiar with FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, SPC, MSA AIAG Modules
Working Knowledge of TS16949 & ISO9001

Strong PC skills including MS Excel use, experience with database use/construction
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within department as well as with external/internal customers
Strong training skills

Required Experience:
5 or more years of experience in the truck, automotive or aerospace industries in the areas of Quality and Engineering.
10 or more years of quality management for those without a Technical Bachelors degree.
Bachelor s Degree in Engineering/Science/Industrial Management. (Will consider other types of Bachelor s degrees only with significant quality management experience +10 years)
ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CQM) desired
Automotive/Truck industry experience
