Maintenance Tech
As a Mechanical Technician at Interplast, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment within the company's manufacturing facilities. Your expertise in mechanical systems and troubleshooting will contribute to optimizing production efficiency and minimizing downtime. You will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, performing preventative maintenance tasks, and promptly addressing equipment issues. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, conveyors, and manufacturing machinery.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical malfunctions and issues, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.
Replace or repair defective parts and components to restore equipment functionality and minimize production disruptions.
Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies.
Preventative Maintenance:
Execute scheduled maintenance tasks, including lubrication, calibration, and adjustment of machinery.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures or performance degradation.
Recommend and implement improvements to preventative maintenance plans to optimize equipment reliability and lifespan.
Equipment Installation and Commissioning:
Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
Ensure proper alignment, assembly, and testing of mechanical systems during installation.
Collaborate with engineering teams to provide input and feedback on equipment design and functionality.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, repairs, and spare part inventory.
Generate reports detailing equipment performance, maintenance activities, and recommended improvements.
Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, document procedures, and manage maintenance schedules.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of workplace safety.
Comply with regulatory standards and company policies related to equipment maintenance and operation.
Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly and participate in safety training programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a mechanical technician or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with a solid understanding of mechanical systems and components.
Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is advantageous.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
